What should I wear?
At First Baptist Baytown you’ll find a wide variety of dress styles: blue jeans, khakis, suits, dresses, and skirts. Dress however you feel comfortable.
What are your Sunday morning services like?
We offer two distinct worship experiences on Sunday mornings, with small group Bible studies sandwiched in between. At 8:15 AM, we offer a traditional worship experience. We sing the great hymns of our faith accompanied by the FBC orchestra, piano, organ and handbells. One of our choirs (Worship Choir, Senior Adult Choir, Handbell Choir) leads us in beautiful music. At 10:45 AM, we offer a contemporary worship experience, featuring guitars, drums, keyboards, brass, our Worship Choir and Praise Team. We are committed to create a worship experience in which every person encounters the Holy God. All of the lyrics declare the greatness of our Heavenly Father and the Living Christ. The messages are Biblically based, creative in presentation, challenging, practical, and offer insight into relevant issues. We commonly incorporate drama and video.
Do you offer Children’s Worship?
Yes! Your children will love UPTOWN Children’s Worship—it is serious fun! Our Children’s Worship is Christ-centered, high-energy, and kid-friendly. Children are taught the great Biblical truths in a setting designed especially for them. Children’s Worship is more than just singing fun songs, laughing at hilarious skits, watching hip music videos, and hearing a unique sermon each week. It’s also about training our children. The older kids are encouraged to begin to use their God-given gifts and talents. They help run tech and lead in worship. We offer Children’s Worship each Sunday with the exception of the last Sunday of each month. This allows the children to experience “big church” and participate in the Lord’s Supper, celebrate baptisms, and enjoy other special events.
What’s Bible Study like?
Blessed with tremendous teachers, FBC Baytown offers Bible Study for all ages at 9:30 AM each Sunday. In Bible Study, you’ll find loving and grace-filled teachers and ordinary people who will love you, accept you, and encourage you. However,
the connection doesn’t end Sunday. You’ll find our classes stay in contact throughout the week through emails, parties, and involvement in other ministries. You will experience the love of God through classmates and the study of God’s Holy Word.<
